On very few Android devices we have found that the vendor-based OS can kill Sail Insights background tracking process. There is only a workaround-fix for this issue at the moment. Users should run a routing in google maps or a tracking session in Strava (a popular cycling tracking app) active in parallel. This will keep the background tracking of Sail Insight alive.
This approach should fix the issue on a failing Android phone.
The advantage of using Strava is that a backup recording of the track is generated that can be imported to the SAP Sailing Analytics (this video explains how the import works) in case the track did not get recorded properly anyway. So far we have not required a backup recording import. Let us know when you do.
